Okay, so my book came back from the DoD and I thought this was it. “Sweet, it only took me like 6 months to write this and now I’ll get to publish it!” Before I decided to publish this really rough, rough draft (which I had no clue about how to publish a book so I don’t know what I planned on doing) I emailed it to one of the authors that helped me out before.
He read it, got back to me, and said, “you have a good story and all the main points but you need to turn it into a book that people want to read.” I’m not going to lie, that stung a little. I thought I was done and now….it looks like it’s back to the drawing board. He told me that he knew a girl that could help me out with my writing process. I was eager to take him up on his offer because it seemed like I, obviously, didn’t know what I was doing. I needed some help.
He introduced me to her, via email, and we hit it off right away. She was a journalist and hadn’t worked on anything, like this, before. We were both new at this and excited to work together. I thought this was it…..finally, I’ll be able to “show” the audience my story and the book will be published in no time! Again, Heidi…..ease up on the cockiness.
